The BBA’s Diversity, Membership, and Professional Ethics Committees invite you to kick off 2020 by fulfilling your required Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credit. On January 15, 2020, the BBA is presenting on the topic “Race, Class, Power & Privilege in Public Service Law” led by Shannon Cumberbatch, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Supervising Professor, The Bronx Defenders Holistic Defense Externship at Columbia Law School. Ms. Cumberbatch’s presentation will touch on the common ways issues of race, class, nationality, orientation/gender identity and expression, bias, privilege and lack of cultural consciousness can manifest in the attorney client-relationship, and how we can be more thoughtful and reduce bias in our practices.
